Daien-ji Temple
Located centrally in the town of Owani in Aomori, the bright red Daien-ji Temple is worshipped as “Owani’s Dainichi-sama”. The temple enshrines the National Important Cultural Property, “Amida Nyorai Sitting Statue” in the Dai-nichi Hall. The Amida Nyorai Sitting Statue is 4.85 meters tall. The temple is located within walking distance from Owani Onsen Station.

Chausuyama Park

Owani Town Regional Exchange Center Wani-come
Owani Town Regional Exchange Center Wani-come is located right in front of the JR Owani Onsen Station. In addition to a large hot spring bath and open-air bath, the center has a restaurant and a farmer’s market where local products are available for purchase.

Hirosaki Park
Hirosaki Castle located in Hirosaki Park was planned by the first Tsugaru clan lord Tsugaru Tamenobu, completed by his successor Tsugaru Nobuhira. Hirosaki Park has become a cherished place for residents and tourists alike with breathtaking cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall. *Hirosaki Castle Honmaru is currently under repairs.

Tsugaru-han Neputa Village
Tsugaru-han Neputa Village is a place where visitors are able to revel in the Hirosaki Neputa Festival, the main summer event in Hirosaki, all year-round. In addition to exhibits such as the large neputa that reaches 10 meters high, visitors can have hands-on experience playing the festival taiko drums. The facility offers other Tsugaru cultural experiences such as craft making and live performances of Tsugaru Shamisen.

Hirosaki Apple Park
Hirosaki Apple Park houses 1,300 apple trees of 65 different varieties. Visitors not only have the opportunity to pick apples, but purchase over 1,200 types of goods and products that highlight Aomori apples. The park also houses a cider brewery that crafts apple cidre using Aomori apples.
